Abstract/Pitch

Image
This pitch I made is directed toward an audience who is in need of medical attention, currently in medical care, or have previously been treated with medical procedures involving technology. I sent out my pitch through my Instagram on social media in the hopes of getting some feedback from my friends or anyone they know who would be interested this project.

Research Questions

-Through the recent discovery of medical technology, the medical field has greatly exceled in its results. With curing and finding more biomedical resources to help scientists lead more successful findings. -Medicine has surpassed many findings in the recent years including the improvement of lives all around the world. Technology being one of its great factors in the new discoveries of medical advances. -Medicine has been affected by technology for the better in the past years leaving it a great space for new discoveries that have helped healthcare become more efficient and successful.    Reflection I gave my three research questions to members of my family and found similarities and differences all across their responses. Firstly, most of them agreed on the idea that my draft of these questions was not smooth, and the words used in it are rather rough and do not go straight to the point. They recommended to use words that are more elegant an...

Unit 1 Reflection

Image
Through the completion of my curated source collection I had many ups and downs in the research process but none I was not able to overcome or figure out a way to improve, I’ll explain later in this reflection. That being said, I feel pretty good about the quality of the sources I found overall. My claim on this is to demonstrate how technology has ultimately advanced the potential of medical findings and procedures with a relationship in literacy as it is used in analysis. I was interested in this topic due to my background and interest in pursuing a career in surgery, which gave me even more of a drive to find out more about how in 10 years the future of medicine may be turned around with the use of technology. At the beginning it was hard to find sources on medicine and technology that did not veer towards the business financial aspect of medical technology.  One of my favorite sources I found was the TED talk on A Universal Translator for Surge ons the unive...

Survey on Global Warming Survey: https://www.desmogblog.com/2017/07/06/new-survey-shows-majority-americans-believe-climate-change-real-and-caused-human-activity I chose this survey because I thought it was a relatable topic that everyone is aware of today. Reading the survey, it is interesting to see how different the government outlook on global warming is from that of the public eye. The numbers have changed drastically in that people now believe that global warming isn’t only a cause of natural changes but rather human intervention. The survey said, “over half of Americans (58%) understand that global warming is mostly human caused, the highest level since our surveys began in November 2008”. I am one of those 58% who believe humans are the greater part of what is causing global warming to accelerate. To my surprise, the survey says that “21% disagree [that Americans say that schools should teach children about the causes, consequences, and potential solutions to...
