Survey on Global Warming
I chose this survey because I thought it was a relatable topic that
everyone is aware of today. Reading the survey, it is interesting to see how
different the government outlook on global warming is from that of the public
eye. The numbers have changed drastically in that people now believe that
global warming isn’t only a cause of natural changes but rather human
intervention. The survey said, “over half of Americans (58%) understand that global
warming is mostly human caused, the highest level since our surveys began in
November 2008”. I am one of those 58% who believe humans are the greater part
of what is causing global warming to accelerate. To my surprise, the survey
says that “21% disagree [that Americans say that schools should teach children
about the causes, consequences, and potential solutions to global warming”. I
am very shocked that this number is still so high when comparing the recent
record of 58% of Americans are convinced global warming exists and yet there
are still people who do not support that we should be educated on the topic. Personally,
this survey is a good way to see how split the nation is when it comes to being
aware that global warming and climate change is taking a toll on our resources
as well as our planet. Looking at the comments of some people regarding the
survey, I see a pattern of politics taking the decision point of many individuals.
Some mention, “…it’s all about the money. The mother of all taxes…governments worldwide
never have enough money to do all the things they want to do…”. From this we can observe how not only is politics taking a toll on climate change but also the fact that people are unaware of where to spend their money.

Interesting how you took a survey that focused on a controversial issue/topic! Most of my surveys focused on fun personality tests or quizzes, but I was able to learn a lot too.
