Unit 3 Reflection

Image
At the beginning of this assignment I had thought about doing a Prezi however I decided it was best to explore new territory, so I chose iMovie as my medium for this Unit 3 project. I believed that this was the best way to project my argument to my audience because it was not just a presentation you typically see. It was voiced by me while introducing evidence on my argument claiming that technology may be putting doctors at a lower level now with so many technological advancements. Also, as I mentioned before I didn’t want to do a Prezi for this assignment again because I had already done a Prezi for unit one. This made it more of a challenge for me to figure out how to use iMovie and its features, so I got not only a completed project out of this, but I also taught myself how to work with and make an iMovie. I submitted my Unit 3 Project through my Instagram account with a brief preview of the video that is linked in the bottom of the post for those who wanted to l...

Graphic Novel

Honestly it was a tough way to find graphic novels through the Syracuse university online library. I ended up having to chat with a representative to have them help me out with finding graphic novels available through the online library. Following my search, I decided that Calvin and Hobbes was considered a graphic novel so I began reading. Many of the scripts I read sent messages that were important for people to learn from such as "its not enough to change a few little habits! Everybody I know needs a complete personality overhaul" or "in the long term, it would make me happier to do well at school and become successful". These short phrases make a comic not only an entertaining tool but also ...

Film Reviews

Documentary: Mission Blue After watching this film I was left with a call to change the way we look at the ocean as a secondary mission. It is definitely in our hands to be able to preserve the ocean from the constant harm it faces due to human pollution and reliance. Even though this documentary did not explicitly establish an argument it still posed many circumstances in which the imagery we are shown makes the audience feel inclined to help the ocean. For example the film introduces images and videos of the 2010 deep water oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico making the audience feel moved to empathize for whats happened to the oceans due to human intervention. Reviews mentioned a lot about the sexism involved in this documentary due to the stereotype that men are more prone to handling hard and heavy work building such as scuba diving. This was proved wrong by Sylvia Earle, the renowned oceanographer and marine biologist that has accomplished so many feats as a woman in the field...

Karina Diaz Prof. Weiner WRT 205 9 July 2018 Technological intervention in the medical field. Successful or not? What we need to know. Have you ever wondered if the future does more harm than good? Many of us wonder about controversial topics like did the iPhone make us more dependent on technology or did the new vacuum robots make us less responsible and lazy. Truth is nobody completely has the answer to whether technology in our lifetime has become a burden more than it has improved the world around us. Those of us who find an interest in understanding how technology has ultimately empowered medicine must read this. Because it will not only offer an explanation of what has improved but also demonstrate how there are still uncertainties of whether or not technology is doing good or bad in the medical field. It is crucial to explore these grounds on the influence of the medical field. In recent years, medicine has become a popular candidate where technologi...
